EXCELLENT DESIGN & SERVICE

We approached Brierley Groom after a recommendation from a friend in the village and having seen some of their innovative design work on their website. We are delighted with the resulting extension - it fits in perfectly with the overall (traditional) style of the house, but with a little modern twist by way of a zinc clad feature window. Plans were very detailed and all went smoothly.

AWARD WINNING DESIGN

We first used Brierley Groom for the design and project management of a substantial renovation of a Georgian property combined with modern copper and glass extensions. Our experience was excellent from the first meeting with Greg where we discussed our vision. He was sensitive to the restoration of the old, retaining the integrity of the age and history of the house but was imaginative and innovative in expressing the modern day adaptations we were looking for. He guided us through the planning application for listed properties which was far from straightforward. The project won the regional award for best extension. We went on to engage Brierley Groom for two more projects, each very different, demonstrating Brierley Groom’s versatility and, yet again, award winning design. Each experience has been just as good as the first. The whole team are friendly and professional and great to deal with and I would highly recommend them.

REALISING AN AMBITION

Brierley Groom (BG) helped me realise my ambition to combine efficient living space with extensive outbuildings/garaging. This project ended 3 years of searching and evaluating and the finished article is just what I wanted. Matt and the team created an imaginative build design around an existing property. The project entailed internal modification and extension to the existing and significant new build of outbuildings. The style of the new was sympathetic to that of the old such that the property now looks as if it has always been like this! BG listened to what I wanted, assessed the means to achieve it (tolerating numerous ideas and revisions along the way) and then prepared building plans to reflect what was agreed. In addition, they acted as the project manager, using a balanced approach, sound principles and patience throughout a near-12 month build programme. The overall service was competitively priced and the team were generally attentive and available when needed.

A first class firm of architects with great design ideas and a very professional level of service. They provided a full design and build service for a very reasonable fee and found us an excellent builder to work with during the construction period. We bought a plot of land to build a self build for the family. We had another architect to start with and after not getting very far within 1 year, we were recommended to try Brierley Groom. Best decision we made. Not only do we believe we have a better scheme put forward which the family loves but its an absolute pleasure working with Matt. He is very creative but at the same time practical, which is needed when planning these things. We did more in 1 month than we did with the previous architect in 1 year! OUTSTANDING TEAM - THEY ALWAYS GET RESULT AND NOTHING IS TOO MUCH

Having worked with a really poor planning consultant at the outset of my last project we sought the advice of a colleague who is quite high up in a National estate agency. Without hesitation he recommend Brierley Groom. He uses their services for all of his projects and also recommends them to his valued clients. After assessing the part completed project Matt Groom stepped in and within days put out all of our fires. He connected us to a tips structural engineer to review all of our calcs and referred us to a retrospective warranty provider who didn’t cost the world. Since then, Matt and the team at Brierley have been at the end of the phone no matter what issues we have. They now handle all of our projects and at absolutely no cost to myself they cast their eyes over potential sites (almost every week) and give me an honest appraisal of the site, any pitfalls and the potential of the site. I now recommend Matt and the team to all of my broader network without hesitation.
