The Applicant is committed to achieving a new dwelling in a sustainable manner to ensure that natural resources are used prudently.
The principles employed in the sustainable development of the proposed unit will seek to accord with best practice and the local policy requirements, subject to their ability to be achieved.
It is proposed that the sustainable objectives will be accomplished by a range measures that could include:
Ground source heat pumps to extract heat from the ground being distributed within the property via an underfloor heating system; Sanitary appliances will be chosen for their low water use;
Low energy light fittings will be specified to reduce energy consumption;
Mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery to give a controlled internal environment:
Two electric car charging points within the garage; The new dwelling will also incorporate high quality modern insulation/glazing products to reduce the need for energy consumption due to heat loss/gain. It is proposed that the new dwelling will demonstrate the best practice in energy conservation and traditional building craft, so providing a more sustainable dwelling than that which it will replace.
